He holds political posts in a party that is in power in a state. A search by his name and political party throws up several mentions in mainstream press as is shown here :- http://www.google.co.in/#hl=en&sclient=psy-ab&q=abhishek+banerjee+trinamool+congress&oq=abhishek+banerjee+Tr&gs_l=hp.1.0.0l2j0i22i30.4634.5220.2.6654.3.3.0.0.0.0.178.477.0j3.3.0...0.0...1c.1.12.psy-ab.L2HYu7_kRik&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.45960087,d.bmk&fp=d067efd1aa3e67b5&biw=1269&bih=662. Why this article should be in an encyclopedia is given by adding the fact that he is an office bearer for Trinamool Congress, a party in power in the Indian state of West Bengal, and apart from being an office bearer there is talk of his misuse of his relationship with the Chief Minister for personal gain as well as being involved in the recent Ponzi scheme Saradha chit fund scam in West Bengal.Reply

Abhishek Banerjee is the President of All India Trinamool YUVA and a political personality. Continuous efforts are being made by other political parties to malign his image. This should immediately be stopped. On behalf of www.aitm.org

Improper Edits

edit

This article has not been edited as per Wikipedia Guidelines. The following lines seems like a personal attack:

"By virtue of being the nephew of Mamata Banerjee, present chief minister of West Bengal he is also the National President of All India Trinamool Yuva"

"The opulent wedding of Abhishek to Jasmeet Ahuja in February 2012 made it an embarrassment for Mamata as she is known for her austerity"

This type of edits should not be encouraged. Please see the 'Information Style and Tone' section of the better articles guideline. Also another line in this article says:

"Leaps and Bounds is a company that claims to be in Bottled Water, Consultancy, Real Estate, Micro Finance and Insurance"

This line is also improperly written. You cannot write "CLAIMS TO BE" for a company. Leaps and Bounds is a company headed by Abhishek Banerjee and they deal with all the services mentioned above. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Asanirban (talkcontribs) 07:35, 13 June 2013 (UTC) Asanirban (talk) 07:41, 13 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Improper to remove cited criticism and facts too

edit

It is also improper and distortion of facts to remove references that are critical and supported by citations, as is removal of facts like his being a nephew, and not having any other political activity or background to get a role in a political party. The wedding was covered by the media and the opulence was mentioned in several national mainstream print articles and even caused Mamata Banerjee to avoid the event. Editing a living persons biography

edit

A proper Wikipedia editor will never edit any living person's biography to malign his/her image. You could have created a section called 'Controversies' and put the facts there.

Wikipedia is not a place for personal attacks. I have seen that the article was different earlier and then it was changed on 6-May-13 with this article, which is not proper.

If someone wants to add any fact which is controversial, they can add it in the article, but can not edit the whole article to reflect a bad image. Otherwise all the biographies of the renowned persons having some controversies would have been changed (including Jawaharlal Nehru or Sonia Gandhi).

I would request the administrator of this page to put on the old actual article and keep the controversial facts in a separate section. Asanirban (talk) 09:18, 14 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

What controversy ?

edit

The article was a fan page prior to 6th May. which cannot be said of the Nehru and Sonia Gandhi articles. And the facts being removed by the Trinamool political activists are not removing only "controversy" but also facts. For what is the controversy or what is maligning in - 1. The fact that he is a CEO of a company called Leaps and Bounds ?- 2. That he is Mamata Bannerjee's nephew ? why are these facts being removed in the name of controversy ? Why should these be in a controversy section ? There have been comments that have been discussed and removed or changed, if there is something that is objectionable in the current article, please do point out on the discussion page and an agreement can be worked out, or an admin can be involved if there is no agreement reached. Removed Wedding

edit

Abhishek Banerjee is now a Member of The Parliament and the "Wedding" section is not fitting the content. SO I have deleted it. 14.99.221.251 (talk) 04:32, 11 January 2015 (UTC)Anirban Sengupta.Reply
