Talk:Abel E. Leavenworth

I believe the date of Abel Leavenworth's second marriage needs to be changed. The US 1900 Census of Castleton, Vermont states that he and Lucy were married 12 years, which would put the date at 1888, rather than 1877, The US 1880 Census of Randolph, Vermont shows him as a widower. And lastly, the 2d marriage the same day as the death of his first wife just seems unlikely. I would edit the entry, but I have only an approximate year from the Census, not a complete date and place as the current entry shows.

I've just consulted his (AEL's) personal Bible and it has a hand-written note giving his marriage date to Lucy as 12 Aug 1889. So, yes, it is clearly incorrect in the article. I'll remove it altogether until a cite-able source can be found (can you cite a hand-written note in a Bible?) Jacobsievers (talk) 22:31, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
