I've done a copyedit; hope I was write changing "casually" to "causally" and removing the bit about the galaxy.

Needed: date of publication; evidence of its influence (in its absence, I removed "influential" from the description of the essay); ideally, reasons why people find Moore's arguments convincing. Vicki Rosenzweig 12:43, 16 Oct 2003 (UTC)

Ha! No one finds Moore's arguments convincing, but the text was influential nonetheless. KSchutte 20:33, 24 July 2005 (UTC)Reply
As the G. E. Moore article notes, the essay deeply influenced Wittgenstein, who grappled with it in his posthumously-published On Certainty. That's just the most famous example of its influence, which has been pretty wide-ranging, from epistemology to the meta-philosophical discussion of how one ought to proceed when arguing. --Delirium 08:46, 10 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Should "verse" be paragraph? or section? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.185.204.158 (talk • contribs) .
