Talk:AWK (programming language)/to do

Here are some tasks awaiting attention:
  • Article requests : *The distinction "AWK" vs. "awk" described in the article is plausible but AFAICS not universally adhered to in practice. At least, the all-lowercase spelling is often used for both the language and its interpreters/compilers (but I've never seen "AWK" used to refer to any of them; that one seems to be used for the language only). I think, unless we have some official quotation to back our convention up, we should loosen the wording a bit (NOTE: I like the convention; I just don't feel like saying that it is the only "correct" one).
    • About pronunciation: could anyone familiar with IPA clarify it a bit? I'd suggest rewording "it is commonly pronounced "awk" and not as a string of separate letters" to "It is commonly pronounced as a normal word [IPA here] and not as a sequence of separate letters". Perhaps it is pronounced exactly as "auk"?
