Steven Rodriguez, A.K.A. A$AP Yams, is a leading figure in Hip-Hop influencing figures from across the genre including all of A$AP Mob, Post Malone, and others. He is repeatedly mentioned in Hip-Hop, and definitely deserves a well written and well thought out Wikipedia page. There are a lot of mentions of him in the genre, and I am willing to compile a list of the album covers he's appeared on ranging from the single Yamborghini High, to Cozy Tapes #1. Other dedications include Post Malone's ode to A$AP Yams with the song Too Young. Post Malone stated "after A$AP Yams passed I recorded this song, so it’s kind of an ode to him. We weren’t friends but I think it was so cool how he was a cultural icon and he inspired so many people to do what they wanted to do. And he had such an influence on the youth of today. I think it was a tragedy that he went so soon. I just thought it was the right thing, to pay tribute to him..."

He's had interviews and mentions, in and with, Rolling Stone, and the New York times respectively. In a 2013 New York Times profile, Yams broke down his role as, "[A$AP] Rocky’s like Luke Skywalker, and I'm Yoda."

A$AP Mob is a project an an attempt at Fraternizing an in-group of Hip-Hop. References to Mobs, Gangs, and Fraternities are constantly made, and A$AP Yams is at the forefront with A$AP Rocky. "Come fuck with the Mob, shout out to the Lords and the Gods" "Gang! Gang! Them boys not flexing the same". Brotha Man on the album TESTING states "Brotha man, young man, let me tell you somethin' - Young man, brotha-brotha, gotta fight for somethin' - Stand for somethin', brotha understand..." This can be a message to the followers of A$AP Mob to understand the core principles and benefits of Brotherhood in A$AP Mob.

In A$AP Forever REMIX, A$AP Rocky states "Was born in the dark, I kill you, you open my blinds, On Yams and that's word to my moms" exclaiming his dedication to the legacy of A$AP Yams. Furthermore, A$AP Rocky states "I pray to God I don't overdose" in reference to A$AP Yams' early death due to a drug overdose. In an interview with Genius.com Rocky confirms this.

This is only the beginning of my Analysis of A$AP Mobs influence on the genre, and I didn't do much research. Lbrahimakkaya (talk) 05:37, 2 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
