Caption to picture
editAs Southend is to the east of London , surely the caption (Looking east with Southend bound traffic closest to camera) is wrong. Either the picture is looking west, with Southend bound traffic going east, or is looking East and the traffic is London bound. Daemonic Kangaroo 11:00, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Good point, should we change it then? FM

Building
editThe Southend Arterial, like the original East Lancs road, was a post-war highway development consisting almost entirely of new road. (at least from Romford to Rayleigh) That is a rare and wonderful thing and surely deserves a mention? I remember the opening ceremonies. Construction was part of the same development wave that included the new towns and
it was built with a cycle track on the north side, that went all the way. We used it for charity walks during rag weeks in the 1960s.
I notice that the Fortune of War is mentioned, but not the HalfWay House--Brunnian (talk) 10:50, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
Continuous dual carriageway... I think not
editIt isn't - Victoria Avenue between West Street and Fairfax Drive is 4-lane single carriageway. AndyB (talk) 14:13, 1 March 2013 (UTC)
