Broken Link edit

I deleted the following broken link: Official Homepage of 1st Battalion, 9th Cavalry

The link did not send me to any website and I could not find a correct address where this website could be located.Agentk009 (talk) 22:15, 20 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Beecher Island edit

I removed the following paragraph from the article. The reason was that Forsyth had only white scouts with him during that battle and he was serving under Sheridan at the time. The 9th was in Texas and not in Colorado at this time. It was Louis H. Carpenter with the 10th Cavalry that rescued Forsyth.

"At the Battle of Beecher Island in 1868, a specially raised force of civilian scouts under Major George A. Forsyth of the 9th defeated a combined force of Arapaho, Northern Cheyenne, Brulé, and Oglala Sioux Indians."
