Readers may be interested to know that according to Steven J. Nitch [1] this photo Image:EdRice.jpg is of Elliot Warren Rice. Perhaps it should be renamed and put in this article.--Appraiser 22:07, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
Not a bad idea if the attribution is certain.

Appraiser, I'm pretty sure this photo is of Elliott Rice's brother, Brigadier GeneralSamuel Allen Rice. The only photo I have of Elliott shows him with only a mustache and a wider face, in Ezra Warner's Generals in Blue, p. 400. Samuel Allen Rice was Colonel of the 33rd Iowa. His photo on p. 402 resembles the photo of Samuel.

This website [2] has a few pictures of each of them. Unfortunately it's sources aren't clear, but you might take a look at these and compare them with your book.--Appraiser 18:40, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
I will do that. The book has photos of all Federal general officers, so it should be a worthwhile exercise.--Scromett 23:22, 2 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
