My first unit assignment as a newly commissioned 2d LT was Platoon Leader, 2nd Platoon, D Company 3rd Armored Rifle Battalion 51st Infantry at Sullivan Barracks, Mannheim Germany. I arrived at the unit in November 1961 and remained assigned until the unit deactivated in 1963. I was reassigned to the 1/16th Infantry at Baumholder. Germany. I served as Platoon Leader and Mortar Platoon Leader in D Company and later became XO of B Company192.92.210.23 (talk) 23:07, 7 May 2014 (UTC)
