Assessment completed for 50-metre arc

edit

As per either a recent request at section for assessment requests or because this article was listed as fully or partly unassessed at Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/Assessment I have just now completed a rating of the article and posted my results to this page. Those results are detailed above in the template box. Unfortunately, due to the volume of articles that need to be assessed, I am unable to leave detailed comments other than to make the following brief observation: assessed on article page as stub - agreed - low importance - needs some wikifying

However if you have specific questions, please write to me on my talk page and as time permits I will try to provide you with my reasoning. Please put my talk page on your watchlist if you do ask such a question because in the case of these responses I will only post my answer underneath your question.

ALSO if you do not agree with the rating you can list it in the section for assessment requests below, and someone will take a look at it.--VS talk 09:59, 11 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

The 25m arc and the 50m arc were introduced into the WAFL to ensure fair measurement for the 25m and 50m penalties that were introduced at the same time. The VFL took on the 50m penalty but not the 25m penalty. Later, national standardisation did away with the 25m penalty in the WAFL. This is the reason why there was no need for a 25m arc - nothing to do with the notion of how far players can kick, as quoted in the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.15.64.50 (talk) 05:14, 3 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
