Talk:31 Crateris

I removed the sentence (and nice animated gif) that said 31 Crateris might be an eclipsing binary.

I removed this because the cited reference (https://articles.adsabs.harvard.edu/pdf/1980Obs...100..168S), published in 1980, merely states that the high orbital inclination of the binary, combined with the short orbital period, means that it might be an eclipsing binary, and the author urges that further studies be carried out. In other words that paper presents no evidence that eclipses actually occur. I can find no subsequent publication that presents actual evidence of eclipses. The Hipparcos data for this star samples the light curve quite well, and no eclipses are apparent. The AAVSO page for this star (https://www.aavso.org/vsx/index.php?view=detail.top&oid=10702) also does not classify it as eclipsing. PopePompus (talk) 03:08, 3 January 2023 (UTC)
