Vandalism on this page

edit

To the user with the IP address of: 109.152.195.145 Your statement on my user discussion page of: "24/7 24/7 is HBO Documentary on BOXING. Not NFL, NHL or Nascar. Stop making ridiculous alterations. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.152.195.145 (talk) 01:55, 14 November 2010 (UTC)" Is incoherent and only logical as vandalism. Please read citations and references provided on pages BEFORE you vandalize them or if prefer not to read provided citations and references please tell Wikipedia that you don't like them using citations. Either way please don't delete cited referenced material. This was taken as blatant vandalism. You have been reported. Marketdiamond (talk) 03:38, 14 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hholt01:This is level one of vandalism warning, welcome to Wikipedia! We cite sources here, please read them and please never vandalize a Wikipedia page again. It is good Wikipedia form to leave a note asking BEFORE making a deletion of sourced referenced material, especially when you are brand new to Wikipedia. Again welcome, would be happy to answer any questions you may have before you undo wikipedians efforts at contributions. Hholt01 (talk) 03:47, 14 November 2010 (UTC)

You were both partially right. 24/7 began as a boxing show, then they did a nascar season and now they are going to be doing a hockey season. However, the football that was mentioned was part of the Hard Knocks (TV series). I have fixed the article to reflect that. -DJSasso (talk) 12:48, 15 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

They are not doing seasons of anything. The did a 1 off on Nascar, and they are doing a 1 off on Penguins vs Capitals but they are not seasons and are being done slightly different. I'll edit the page to reflect the correct structure. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.152.251.40 (talk) 20:30, 15 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

You might want to read the press releases sent out by HBO and the NHL etc. Becaues they call the boxing episodes, season 1, and then they call the nascar episodes the next season. So yes, they are seasons. -DJSasso (talk) 17:54, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
Let me start off by saying that anyone is allowed to warn; warnings are not restricted only to admins, and in fact, users are supposed to warn others of the applicable policies or guidelines before reporting them to an administrator. That aside.. ALL CAPS are not used in section titles when the relevant section subject is not for instance, an acronym like NASCAR. Boxing, as an example, would not be used with all caps.— dαlus Contribs 21:11, 15 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Go away. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.152.251.40 (talk) 22:56, 15 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Uh, no. Telling anyone to 'go away', is disruptive editing, and persistent incivility can result in a block. You do not own this article, so I suggest you stop acting like you do.— dαlus Contribs 10:38, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

In the spirit of full documentation: PA on an admin and myself on my talk page. Marketdiamond (talk) 18:18, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

edit

As is quite clear from the above discussion and the link to the one on my userpage as well as various Admin user pages, this page was (I'm trying to put this gently) attacked by a series of Anon Proxies from an address that is not likely a residence or dorm all with the same style of vile WP:PA. This vandal repeatedly removed the navboxes and refused to discuss anything or join Wikipedia (although they talked as if they were a seasoned editor well aware of all policies and procedures, and their proxies only attacked this page in there total history). For that reason I am restoring the navboxes to pre-anon proxy vandal status. Optimally once we expand this page with contributions and not deletions and especially not anon proxy deletions we can possibly split the NASCAR, Winter Classic and boxing to their seperate pages and we can discuss removing the navboxes from the main article. I am always open and willing to discuss additions and deletions to the page, however I would be surprised if any editor (or Admin for that matter) would raise a question on a glorified stub about navboxes after a concerted, focused and deliberate effort by Anon proxies with only this page in its histories, from a commercial district used WP:PA but claimed extensive knowledge about all Wiki policies had done so. I am all for civil, constructive discussion, but for the anon proxy out there that keeps attempting distruction why not join (if you haven't already) expand this page and we can split off the NASCAR and Hockey and consider splitting off the navbars. Oh and to the anon proxy (since you don't have a talk page) apologies for your repeated WP:PA would win greater consensus for deletions of data at this point. Thank you all for your consideration and I thank the admins for their efforts on this matter. Marketdiamond (talk) 23:21, 16 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

- Article is now complete and accurate. No Further Changes needed as everything is in order and documented as it should be without incorrect and pointless information and banners which had previously been placed on page. Nav Boxes are un-necessary but to save Hholt from crying any further they can stay, for now. --213.246.151.130 (talk) 12:09, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

That's not your decision to make. No article is ever finished on Wikipedia, that's how it works. GedUK  20:27, 17 November 2010 (UTC)Reply
To Anon Proxy user 213.246.151.130 it is strange you continue the same vile WP:PA ("crying any further") as the other Anon Proxy users attempting to vandalize this article, as well as their veiled threat MO ("they can stay, for now"), as well as speaking in the past tense in first person (leading to the belief that although you have different IPs you are in fact the same individual). Again Welcome to Wikipedia, and please consider joining us. May I suggest: |Civility. Marketdiamond (talk) 04:08, 18 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Disagreement with Focus of 24/7 Road to the Winter Classic

edit

This article currently states; "The hockey episodes paid special attention to the player rivalry between Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin. [1]". I disagree with this sentiment for two reasons: 1. The reference cited uses the rivalry as a seque into the article, rather than claiming it as the focus of the series. 2. Upon viewing the series, I believe the key plot structure focuses more on the Capitals' breaking a loss-streak, and on the Penguins' ending a win-streak and Crosby's point-streak. As a non-editor, I would love confirmation of this sentiment before the article is altered.--219.89.8.9 (talk) 12:10, 22 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Interesting point on this, I don't see any real issue here but am interested in others opinions on it. Marketdiamond (talk) 08:59, 11 October 2012 (UTC)Reply
