Was there another incarnation of the regiment?
editI query the implication there was no regiment of that numbering between 1820 and WWII. According to this biography in the History of Parliament of Richard Seymour-Conway (ultimately 4th Marquess of Hertford)[:https://www.historyofparliamentonline.org/volume/1820-1832/member/seymour-conway-richard-1800-1870] there is an officer who held a half-pay commission as Captain in the 22nd Dragoons from 1823 until his death in 1870. Was it possible for commissions to be purchased in disbanded regiments? I notice BTW the paragraph about the earlier incarnations of the regiment has no citations concerning the years between 1783 and 1820 so have raised a citation need against the sentences, particularly with regard to the statement of the 1820 disbandment.Cloptonson (talk) 08:28, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
