How to rank players for statistics edit

As we are in danger of edit warring, I thought I would clear up an issue here.

When listing players for statistics (be it goals, assists, appearances etc.), how should they be listed? As the first column is rank, that takes precedence. As the second column is squad number, that takes second precedence. For example, if 3 people have scored 1 goal each, they are then sorted by their squad number.

Are we in agreement on this ranking? Many thanks! 86.27.26.70 (talk) 17:33, 22 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

I agree. The goalscorers list should be sorted by squad number when season-total goals are equal. --Phikia (talk) 07:12, 23 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Mavropanos sell on fee edit

Probably need to add the circa 2 million fee Arsenal are reviving from West Ham signing Mavropanos. 79.76.249.193 (talk) 13:51, 23 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Does the edit I made in the Overall transfer activity section of the article suffice? 86.27.26.70 (talk) 22:38, 23 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Keep an eye on the Guendouzi transfer to Lazio edit

Arsenal will get a 15% sell on clause payment for that transfer too. 79.76.249.193 (talk) 09:49, 27 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Kieran Tierney Loan edit

Arsenal will receive a £1.2 million loan fee for Kieran this season. 79.76.249.193 (talk) 10:03, 28 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Pepe to Trabzonspor edit

Pepe's transfer is currently listed as a free transfer to Trabzonspor. Isn't that misleading, seeing as it was a contract termination (i.e. Arsenal's official website doesn't mention Trabzonspor. It talks only about him leaving via a contract termination. Therefore, it's not a transfer to Trabzonspor, if that makes sense)?

I propose listing it was a contract termination (most likely in the contracts section of the page, where Maitland Niles' contract release is listed), and then referencing both Arsenal (for the termination) and BBC (for him joining Trabzonspor after termination).

This is clearly the reason why Arsenal hasn't been used as the source of the Pepe move and that is quite indicative of this not being a "transfer out" of the club, at least in my opinion.

Thoughts? 86.27.26.70 (talk) 21:47, 9 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

I agree. Ricky Sen had already listed (and hidden) it in section "Released". I made this edit to add sources and remove other contents related to Pepe. -- Phikia (talk) 06:42, 10 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
Your edit is perfect in my opinion. Thanks (to Ricky Sen too)! 86.27.26.70 (talk) 00:05, 11 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

March Stats post Sheff Utd win edit

"The 6–0 win meant that Arteta's side became the second team in English top-flight history to score five or more goals in three successive away games after Burnley in 1961, and the Gunners were the first side in English league football to win three successive away matches by 5+ goals."

I'm aware this is sourced from Opta, however it makes no sense. Those three games in which Burnley scored 5+ goals, they also won all three. So how can Arsenal be the second team to score 5+ but the first to win all three?

I propose that this particular statistic is reviewed.

Sat Sep 16

Division 1 Birmingham City Away Won 6-2
Wed Sep 20

Division 1 Leicester City Away Won 6-2
Sat Sep 23

Division 1 Everton Home Won 2-1
Sat Sep 30

Division 1 Fulham Away Won 5-3

Upon review, the statistics are correct and have also been worded correctly too.
The distinction between the two statistics are that Arsenal scored 5+ goals in three successive top flight league games, matching the run that you have tabled (i.e. Burnley scored 6 vs. Birmingham City, then 6 vs. Leicester City, then 5 vs. Fulham) and also became the first team in English League history to win by 5+ goals in 3 consecutive away league games (as you can see in your table, for example, Burnley won by 4 goals, then by 4 goals, then by 2 goals).
Hope that makes sense. 92.19.97.173 (talk) 15:52, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Assists Statistics is deleted edit

Recently I noticed that the Assists states are not available anymore. 46.10.149.85 (talk) 15:41, 22 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

I also noticed this. I feel like there is far more information that is superfluous to the article than goals and assists. That is largely the bedrock of football, alongside defending. Can it be considered to add these statistics back? (They are currently hidden, but in order to un-hide them, I want a consensus). 92.16.240.204 (talk) 11:38, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Per Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Consensus#Assists (diff page showing the change on 9 April 2024) and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Archive 165#Assists on 2023–24 A-League Men.
User:Dougal18 deleted the Assists section on 8 April 2024. I re-added and hid the section on 9 April. -- Phikia (talk) 10:50, 4 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
