List of MPs

The newspaper The National has this useful list (updated daily) of elected MPs, indicating whether or not they were the incumbent. It also indicates the number of seats per party. Aridd (talk) 17:32, 9 August 2022 (UTC)

@Number 57: Well in the article 2022 Australian federal election, only three parties are shown (Labor, the Coalition and the Greens) even though two other parties (KAP and the Centre Alliance) won a seat each. The talk page discussed it and because these parties didn't run in a majority of seats (One Nation and the UAP, although winning no seats, ran in almost every electorate; One Nation did not run in Higgins or Kennedy, the UAP ran in every electorate). I'm suggesting this here because the Pangu Pati won way more seats than the PNC or the URP. The next parties only have five or less seats. Anyway, I don't have a problem with this infobox, I just prefer the other one. Thiscouldbeauser (talk) 22:36, 9 January 2023 (UTC)

Preliminary vote counts

My edit, adding vote counts and percentages to the table in the prelimnary results section https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=2022_Papua_New_Guinean_general_election&oldid=1176545427 was reverted by @Number 57, saying that "As far as I can see, if the results are really from the source added, they are massively incomplete (some seats haven't even started counting according to the source". The source cited was https://www.pngec.gov.pg/, the official website of the Papua New Guinean electoral comission. Number 57 is correct in saying that the results are massively incomplete, but they are the official results, though they haven't been updated since september 2022, with no indication of plans for more results. The table I added was based on the data from the electoral commission, although aggregated to get totals. I believe, that despite the incompleteness of the data, as there is likely no further data being released, it is better to have the available data published on the wikipedia article, with a clarification that it is incomplete Jasgray04 (talk) 02:10, 3 October 2023 (UTC)

They aren't the official results, just a snapshot in time when they were mid-count. It would be highly inappropriate to create totals based on a mix of complete and incomplete counts.

I also disagree with the claim that "there is likely no further data being released" – I suspect it will be published at some point. Cheers, Number 57 11:02, 3 October 2023 (UTC)
