- "Both, therefore, missed out" - last year's version didn't have commas around "therefore", and I think that's better
- "Northampton dropped to fourth position" - this is the first mention of said team, so Northampton Town and unlink the usage in the next paragraph; I'd also probably stick to "Northampton Town" throughout rather than "Northampton"
- And while we're on that topic, is it really relevant what Northampton and Bristol Rovers (two teams not under direct discussion in this article) did on the last day of the season? "Add that juice", we're told. 😀 It might be more relevant to discuss the two finalists' last day exploits. Or not bother.
- It was very exciting and interesting. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 18:44, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
- "through Jonny Maxted's legs" - could clarify that he was the goalkeeper
- "Jonny Williams corner" - MOS:SEAOFBLUE
- "The return leg took place at Vale Park four days later" - say where that is
- "crossed the ball for Wilson to score" - maybe say which team, just in case people forgot who Wilson is
- "the level the tie 2–2 on aggregate" - should be "to level the tie..."
- "manager Darrell Clarke" - sea of blue
- "to qualify for the final. After the final penalty miss..." - repetition of final, and with different meanings too, which might confuse
- "Ben Garner claiming that his players" - MOS:CLAIM
- "They have played in the fourth tier of English football since..." - switch to present tense sounds slightly odd; I get that they're still in that division at the moment, but probably better to say "They had..." even so. Future-proofs it as well.
- "Port Vale have participated..." - same thing
- "Wilson was Port Vale's top scorer with 14 goals and 3 assists in 46 matches..." - I would probably omit the assists figure. It might make the uninitiated wonder if we're supposed to add them together or something to get the "top scorer" data. Last year didn't mention assists here too.
- "marksman" - a bit of a jargon term, and doesn't even appear at Glossary of association football terms
- "had only returned from bereavement leave" - could omit the "only"
- "first booking of the game" - link for booking? Also not sure if we need to connect this to the "yellow card" concept mentioned later
- Linked to gloss. The Rambling Man (Keep wearing the mask...) 18:49, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
- "Four minutes later Benning's shot" - comma after "later"
- "Connor Hall cleared close-range shot from Bowery" - missing "a"
@The Rambling Man: That's about it. Cheers — Amakuru (talk) 17:14, 20 June 2022 (UTC)
