Nunez and Mané edit

Nunez and Mané also count for Liverpool and Bayern Munich, respectively, because they played their respetive national super cups in July 2022 with the new clubs. Being this year's award based on the performance from August 2021 to July 2022, that's why they count for both clubs Alessandraronaldo (talk) 17:42, 17 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's just for the 2021-22 season. July was 2022-23 season. Why do you think it's up to July 2022? Supercups are part of the new season with the new squad. City won club of the year for 6 nominations (Cancelo, De Bruyne, Foden, Mahrez, Silva and Bronze from the Ballon d’Or féminin). Not 7 with Haaland. HSV1887 (talk) 09:51, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 18 October 2022 edit

Discussion no longer valid, and had the wrong target name anyway ("Balon" instead of "Ballon"). Feel free to start a new move discussion if you want it at the 2021-2022 name instead. Fram (talk) 08:40, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

2022/2023 Ballon d'Or2021/2022 Ballon d'Or2022 Ballon d'Or – Neither anyone calls it "2022/2023" but still 2022, nor does it cover the 2022–23 season. Dr Salvus 05:21, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose It does cover 2021/2022 season. Would you also move UEFFA Men's Player of the Year#Winners to confuse readers? Or that we would hange names in the article UEFA Men's Player of the Year Award#2021–22 just becasue of it is called "award of the year" I mean the links at UEFA Men's Player of the Year Award#Award history#winners which consecutively use seasons at the tables, see also my correction here what with the tables? Various sources still call it 2022 Ballon d'Or. Dr Salvus 06:15, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
Then, do not use 2021/2022, instead use 2021–22. But move to 2021–22 only should my RM fail. Dr Salvus 06:20, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Support. The editor should have opened a discussion first before renaming the page. No one calls it the "2021/22 Ballon d'Or" anyway. Fcbpess (talk) 07:35, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Support I agree, even the event was called 2022 Ballon D'or, not 2021-22 regardless of what the season the awards based on. The only reason they took the 2021-22 season as a reference because of the World Cup this november until december. Aiman2607 (talk) 07:41, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
It should be changed back to 2022 Ballon D'or Aiman2607 (talk) 07:42, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
  • Support The event was actually known as the 2022 Ballon d'Or so I don't see why we are trying to change it here. It even makes it confusing for readers. No one would search for 2021/2022 Ballon d'Or. That has not been the usual way of naming it. It should be changed back to 2022 Ballon d'Or Ampimd (talk) 08:05, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

I reverted the move. Please, in the future, first revert the move, and then start a discussion for a move to the new name. This is a high profile page, linked from more than 200 pages(!), and was a redlink for no good reason at all. Fram (talk) 08:38, 18 October 2022 (UTC)Reply
