Trade marks

• Point of clarification in regarding ViperSnake151's note on the name, both Rose Bowl® and Rose Bowl Game® are the trade marks of The Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association. The January 1 game is operated by the Football Committee of the organization in cooperation with the Rose Bowl Operating Company, which has representation from the city, UCLA, Tournament of Roses and others. The agreement to move the game to Texas was made by "The College Football Playoff Management Committee and Tournament of Roses" as indicated on the press release. Additionally ESPN is a party to the arrangement. BTW: the Rose Bowl stadium was originally built by the Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association and deeded to the City. Update: Now the game will be known as the College Football Playoff Semifinal presented by Capital One (with the Tournament of Roses logo). Socalphoto (talk) 00:40, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

The main thing on the agenda is the "Price and terms of payment", not so much of the name. They had removed the "Rose Bowl Game" from the logo before, but then put it back. But not so at the Tournament of Roses website. Socalphoto (talk) 22:11, 28 December 2020 (UTC)

Latest from this report: "Pasadena’s City Council met in closed session last week to discuss the issue, and had yet to report any action pending an agreement on the terms with the Tournament association. • Please see the case that was filed in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California on Feb. 4, 2021 as No. 21-1051. The case is that the "Pasadena Tournament of Roses® Association, which for more than 100 years has been nearly synonymous with the annual Rose Parade® and Rose Bowl Game®, today asked a federal court in California to protect its rights in the tradenames Rose Bowl Game and Rose Bowl."
