Quadrangular or Triangular? edit

As per Cricinfo series page it is a triangular with PNG not participating. Ankurc.17 (talk) 09:04, 4 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Def. a quadrangular series. Cricket Malaysia has it listed as a quad, so does the ICC. @Bs1jac: - CA also shows the series having semi finals and a final. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 11:53, 4 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Lugnuts: @Ankurc.17: Definitely listed as a quad by Cricket Malaysia. These things can change though and are also often misreported early on, especially in CI. ICC Calendar. Semis are not listed by the ICC, but on their future tours view it says 10 T20I. Perhaps it doesn't list the semis in the calendar until the qualified teams are known. Even then semis and a final would make 9 matches not 10 unless there was also a 3rd place playoff. We just need to keep an eye on the information as we get it and adjust accordingly. Sadly no official announcements as yet, just the calendar etc. Bs1jac (talk) 12:01, 4 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Lugnuts: PS: I can't view the CA page due to subscription requirement. I saw when I created the page that the future tours part of the ICC said 10 matches even though only 6 are listed on the calendar but yeah possibly because any semis that may happen don't get listed until teams are confirmed; either way I have no dates for them... if you can see dates in CA then please go ahead and add them in EDIT: Actually I managed to take a quick CA screen grab so can do this. Good stuff - just press the ESC key when the page is loading and you'll see the info. Might take a few attempts to get it bang on! Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 12:12, 4 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Ankurc.17: - Thanks for spotting this in CI. It is interesting that the fixtures in CI are completely different to those on the ICC calendar and on Cricket Archive. We'l have to keep an eye on it. Bs1jac (talk) 12:20, 4 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
By the way, Cricbuzz also currently have it as a quadrangular, same as the ICC and Cricket Archive (see here). Possible that CI have new information, or they may just be wrong. Bs1jac (talk) 13:49, 4 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
I'll go with them being wrong in this case! Although PNG are part of the EAP region, and not the Asian Cricket Council, so maybe they know something we don't... Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 16:22, 4 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
@Lugnuts:No official source, but I have received a Tweet from someone saying they heard from the CPNG office yesterday that they are no longer playing, so it may well be a triangular now. If this does turn out to be true, we may want to remove Series two and create another page for it later once details are announced (i.e. two articles for the Triangular and the Quadrangular). The article would probably need to moved to a new name as well. Bs1jac (talk) 22:14, 4 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
Twitter to the rescue! Great work in asking them and getting a reply. I've been bold and moved this to a new title (as you can tell). This also leaves the original title as a redirect to here, which can be changed to an article for the second series, if/when it's confirmed to be a quad and not a tri-series. Phew! NB Cricket Malaysia have confirmed the Triangular format with teams playing each other twice (again via Twitter) Bs1jac (talk) 08:57, 5 June 2019 (UTC)Reply
