The article gives contradicting time periods of "8th-15th June 2015" and "31 August – 8 September 2015" for Round 1. I think this is due to sources made at different times. --EvanJ35 (talk) 01:53, 27 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

The FIFA Statistical Kit for the WOrld CUp draw gives a really incomprehensible bit of "information" on the OFC qualifiers. (see http://resources.fifa.com/mm/document/fifafacts/mencompwc/51/97/78/statskit1_fwc2018_preldraw_stats_neutral.pdf Page 11)

It says for Round 1 there will be 6 matches (okay, that's what we expected)
But Round 2 says "15" matches. There's no way 2 equal groups gives you 15 matches. Maybe there will be 1 group of 6 at a neutral venue instead (that gives 15 matches)
But Round 3 says "14" matches. There's nothing that gives you 14 matches in one stage - except for 1 home-and-away group of 4 (12 games) with a home-and-away playoff between 1st and 2nd - but then why wouldn't that play-off be called "Round 4"

Here is an explanation of Round 2 having 15 games and Round 3 having 14 games. Each round is really more than one round.

Round 2: 2 groups of 4 teams that had 6 games per group for a total of 12. Each country played each opponent once. Two Semifinals 1 Final 12 + 2 + 1 = 15 The Semifinals and Final were irrelevant to World Cup Qualifying.

Round 3 to be played next year: 2 groups of 3 that will have 6 games per group for a total of 12. Each country will play each opponent twice. The two group winners will each host one game against the other one for a total of 2 games. 12 + 3 = 14
