Informal rename proposal: Zabul Seven
editProposal: rename this article to Zabul Seven.
Reasons:
- The claim of literal beheading appears to be a mistranslation in the English-language press (including the Afghan press!) according to Martine van Bijlert (archive). HRW agrees that the victims had their throats slit. Hazara People (archive) says that Shukria Tabassum's father "saw [his] beautiful daughter lying dead. He held her body up and pressed her against his chest and screamed loudly"; it's hard to imagine this happening in the case of a beheading.
- The term "Zabul Seven" is quite widely used: Martine van Bijlert (archive); TOLOnews (archive); Ground Truth Project (archive); HRW; WSJ (at the end of the non-subscription part) (archive of full article).
(Unfortunately, this suggests that the Afghan English-language press is not very careful in terms of fact-checking and the use of language.)
