Seats in parliament?
editDoes anyone have a source for the number of seats that the next Tunisian parliament will have? Does anyone know what the name of the legislature will be? It would be useful to add to this article (as well as the articles for Tunisian parties that hold no seats in the constituent assembly).David O. Johnson (talk) 03:32, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
- I found answers to both of my questions; it will be called the National Assembly and will comprise of 217 seats. [1] David O. Johnson (talk) 03:46, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
- According to many other sources, it is called Assembly of People’s Representatives (p. 17), Assembly of the People’s Representatives ([2] [3] [4]), People's Representatives Assembly ([5] p. 3) or Assembly of the Representatives of the People ([6] [7] [8] [9] [10]). In the French version it is called Assemblée des représentants du peuple. --RJFF (talk) 20:21, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
- So any of those four phrases would be acceptable? David O. Johnson (talk) 23:40, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
- So far I found no official translation. Until the IORT publishes an official translation, we can use any of the terms mentioned by RJFF. I'd avoid "Assembly of People’s Representatives" as "People" should have a definite article to better translate مجلس نواب الشعب. Abjiklɐm (tɐlk) 00:15, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
- I would prefer Assembly of the Representatives of the People as it seems to be the most common translation in reliable sources. --RJFF (talk) 09:33, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
- Agreed. Abjiklɐm (tɐlk) 16:42, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
