35 WMSG medal events in the 1st Games (we say [1]); 28 in the 2nd Games (NL.wiki mainly‡ says [2]).
9; 2 bridge ‡
10; 0 chess (Google Translate: no medals; "only a simultaneous tournament")
Chess at the 2012 WMSG is a lot more complicated than "only a simultaneous tournament" (NL.wiki via Google Translate). But no medal events. --P64 (talk) 22:31, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
5; 16 draughts
6; 5 go
5; 5 xiangqi
‡ NL.wiki lists 4 medal events at bridge but I suppose that two were non-medal events as in the 1st Games, when there were 11 events in the bridge meet.
There may have been lesser side games too--such as "Coupe de Ville" on the last four days of the 2012 Games calendar.[3]
Evidently the Seniors flight of national teams was a WMSG medal event in 2012, while the World Mixed Teams Championship remained a non-medal event--but a world championship in contrast to lesser events. --P64 (talk) 22:31, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply
With the near-dropout of bridge and dropout of chess (medal events), more than half of the events in the 2nd Games were at draughts.
In the Medals table at NL.wiki, the 4 (of 20) gold medals at bridge are represented by the last four listings in the Gold column (the last four as none won another medal, only 1 Total). The latter two of those, Hongarije and Onafhankelijk Team (Hungary and Independent) are the winners of Seniors and Transnational Mixed Teams at bridge, the non-medal events (at least in 2008). --P64 (talk) 22:52, 27 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
Glad to see this get attention.--T. Anthony (talk) 03:13, 28 August 2014 (UTC)Reply
