Janusz Korwin-Mikke edit

you forgot JANUSZ KORWIN MIKKE and his WOLNOSC I PRAWORZADNOSC! i mean table on the left.

Undecideds in opinion polls edit

The 'other' column in the table of opinion polls is flawed, in that it includes all "undecided" or "won't vote" responses in polls that use them. Either those two categories should be broken out, such that 'Other' actually reflects how many people will vote for the Congress of the New Right, the Democratic Party, etc. After all, if someone doesn't cast a ballot, the percentage of other parties doesn't actually go down. This is particularly significant for whether parties cross the election threshold, which is a matter that currently concerns three parties. Thus, we need to control for this by finding out how many people in each opinion poll were undecideds, etc, and divide the parties' shares by (100 - undecideds)/100. Senate Results edit

There was also a Senate Election, the results should be integrated into the results table. I can't find the results by party on the Polish elections website, help would be appreciated. Gabrielthursday (talk) 21:43, 11 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Why did they change the electoral system for the Senate?Bancki (talk) 14:26, 13 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • Because some people wanted to choose their representatives directly instead of letting parties decide it. Żlepskż (talk) 13:08, 16 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • The only change seems to be from 2 (or 3) to 1 seat per electoral district. Parties decide who will be candidate under their banner, but they still do now, even for a Senate with 1 seat per district.Bancki (talk) 10:47, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
Maybe you are right, but this was also supposed to help lift local candidates to power with confidence from local people but no strong ties to the centres of power and corruption. Anyhow the whole thing deserves a description. Żlepskż (talk) 13:00, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Elections and prime minister edit

Just to avoid future mistakes: PM is not elected, but rather appointed by President. PM can be ANY person, and not just the leader of the party which has won the elections or the previous PM. Żlepskż (talk) 13:02, 16 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

that works in every country technically. perhaps we could just put procedure in the "background" sectio.Lihaas (talk) 05:46, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
i'd rather put it in a more general article about elections in Poland (maybe that would also work better for all the rules for PL elections) . However, Elections in Poland is not as general as i thought. at present, your solution looks good. Żlepskż (talk) 10:00, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Unsourced additions edit

None of these changes had bee sourced to anything but editors' edits, if you must. Also WP:TRIVIA as well as unsourced additions of the section "Novelties" (which wreaks of Trivia)Lihaas (talk) 05:53, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

  • At least the gender parity and the change to the electoral system in senate should remain as both are highly controversial and relevant topics. I am already working on them and would also appreciate other contributions. Żlepskż (talk) 09:02, 17 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
kept the the change to the system as its sourced (eve though poorly). ay cited on the rest? doest have to be english eitherLihaas (talk) 03:30, 18 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Incorrect figures edit

@Leo0502: There are several errors in the figures you added, specifically:

  • The total for the parties listed under Palkiot's Movement is 1,438,904, not 1,439,490
  • The total for the parties listed under the Polish People's Party is 1,201,531 not 1,201,628
  • The total for the parties listed under Democratic Left Alliance is 1,184,799 not 1,184,303
  • The total for parties listed under Polish Labour Party - August 80 is 79,086 not 79,147
  • The total for parties listed under Right Wing of the Republic is 35,059 not 35,169

Would you be able to fix them. Cheers, Number 57 19:42, 20 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

I've checked CSV file provided by National Electoral Commission again and got same results. Looks like it contains some errors, so I can't easily tell which numbers are incorrect. Leo0502 (talk) 21:06, 20 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I don't think we can include it until it's corrected, so I've hidden it for now. Number 57 18:24, 21 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
I have found the reason for the inconsistencies – when a candidate appears on a list but dies before the vote gets tallied up (or I guess is otherwise found unfit to serve as an MP), he becomes "crossed out" – votes for him are added to the list total but do not appear as an individual result in spreadsheets and protocols. Unfortunately I'm not sure where to find information about crossed out candidates' party affiliations. CrimsonCube (talk) 16:40, 3 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
