Talk:2010s in the music industry

Untitled edit

Good outline. I would add some issues the industry faces.

Or the comparison between the early ages of music and how it looks now. People's reactions and affordance of music. Puzankova.v (talk) 16:37, 21 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Article issues as of December 2019 edit

It appears this article hasn't been meaningfully updated since 2016. Because it's full of statements with relative time references (currently, recently, etc.), it has fallen pretty far out of date. The most obvious cases here are statements of fact about subscriber numbers (I believe Spotify has 200M users now, rather than 40M).

The second problem appears (to me) to be individual research. Sentences with speculation (eg. "Exclusive streaming may be on the way out...") were what gave me pause.

I believe in the potential of this article. I think a first pass to remove relative time references would go a long way toward making this article more encyclopedic. Speculation would largely be removed with that. Surely this is a relatively well-reported subject? Let's find some secondary sources to fill out this article! —Shrinkydinks (talk) 21:26, 2 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • It seems the original author (and only major contributor) @Alexmb1993: edited Wikipedia in 2016 as part of a class project and has been inactive since. I don't see any other major contributors to notify. Hopefully somebody with sufficient interest and knowledge finds this article to improve it! I've left tags at the top of the article in the meantime. May try to find relevant WikiProjects or categories that could improve its visibility (and therefore likelihood of being improved).
