Hermann Gerland edit

Is Hermann Gerland not part of the Bayern Munich coaching staff this season? Kingjeff (talk) 04:58, 5 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi Kingjeff, Gerland returned to the second team after the last season. I don't know all the reasons, but that Scholl left as head coach of FCBII is at least part of the reason. Do you speak German? This source confirms it, but I can't find an English one right now. OdinFK (talk) 11:54, 5 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hi OdinFK, using an online translator, it said he is both assistant coach and 2nd team head coach. Kingjeff (talk) 14:11, 5 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oops, clear case of only seeing what I wanted to see, I suppose. Actually now that you say it, I looked a bit more on the FC Bayern homepage, and I could only find a statement (unfortunately only German again as they never translated this News Flash as far as I can see) saying that Gerland will take over at Munich II again, but no mentioning of his future at Munich I. I cannot imagine that he can act as coach for one team and assistant coach for another, but that probably depends on the definition of "assistant coach"... I guess we will have to wait and see what happens. OdinFK (talk) 15:05, 5 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

The first source says that he will split the time between both teams. He said he will be absent sometimes. But keep your eye the roster page for Bayern Munich. When it'll be updated for the upcoming season, it'll show if he is part of the coaching staff or not. Is Scholl permanently gone? Kingjeff (talk) 15:18, 5 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Scholl has left to do his training license. Here (hey, something in English finally) it says, that they plan to have him back as coach of the reserves afterwards, but that doesn't sound final to me. OdinFK (talk) 15:48, 5 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Georg Niedermeier edit

Georg Niedermeier: Is there any reason his transfer is not included in this years transfers out? He was loaned out to Stuttgart last year, but his move was only made permanent this season, and there was a widely reported ca. € 3,5 M fee involved. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.215.80.13 (talk) 00:04, 12 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Georg Niedermeier played for the second team not the first. I believe that this is only for the first team. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 00:22, 12 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Is there an article the 2nd team? At this point, considering his age and the fact that he had being playing for Stuttgart's 1st team, is there any good reason not to include this transfer in this seasonal article? If there is no 2nd team season article, maybe it's a good team to start including 2nd team information considering they're in the 3rd Liga or Regionalliga. Kingjeff (talk) 00:36, 12 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
There usually are no articles for second teams especially when they're not even playing in the second division. The amount of flux on these sides is immense. I don't know that it would be a good idea to include the goings-on, but it might make an interesting discussion on the footy list. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 01:27, 12 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Luiz Gustavo - age. edit

As I have been reported for vandalism when editing Gustavo's age to 23 at the time of transfer - he did not transfer in the summer window at 1. july as the article currently states - I thought it would good to clear this up. Mr. Görlitz makes the point that it's intended to display age at time of transfer, and not at present time, in the transfer section. But Gustavo, born 23 july 1987 from wikipedia and FC Bayern's official information, did quite clearly transfer in the winter transfer window, and had been 23 for almost half a year at the time of transfer to Bayern? I just can't see how this can be disputed, much less how to point it out is considered vandalism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.215.69.244 (talk) 17:24, 10 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Do you understand the use of the template?
"This template returns the number of full years between two specified dates. If the second set of parameters is not included, it will return the number of full years between a specified date and today's date." The way it was before anon started editing was {{Age|1987|7|23|2010|07|01}} and anon was changing it to {{Age|1987|7|23|2011|01|03}}. So apparently I misspoke. The original edit was the start of the July and not the transfer date. Template:Fb in2 player indicates "age : use template age {{age|year|month|day|year|month|day}} with his birthday and date of signing."
I'm sorry if I misread the information. I will correct it now. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 18:47, 10 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Team Kit section? edit

Hi, I would like to create a team kit section (like: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2009%E2%80%9310_FC_Bayern_Munich_season#Team_kit) to show the alternative kit combinations, like the red home socks and the white away shorts? (Luxusfrosch (talk) 11:45, 4 April 2011 (UTC))Reply

Sure, go ahead. Find a couple of fitting words for an intro and there you go. The article you mention could be updated in this regard. Mentioning in the intro that the CL final kit was the 2010-11 BL kit would be nice... OdinFK (talk) 14:36, 4 April 2011 (UTC)Reply
Done. I hope this is good enough (Luxusfrosch (talk) 15:51, 4 April 2011 (UTC))Reply
Well, in my opinion nobody really has the right to judge what is 'good enough'. Besides it looks nice enough to me. If you could add an explanative sentence about the use of the alternates, that would make it even better in my opinion, though. Cheers, keep up the good work.
