Falkenburg or Zomer edit

There is some uncertainty as to who scored the 2-0 in today's match between Sparta and NEC. The Eredivisie initially registered it as an own goal by NEC player Ramon Zomer, but has now awarded the goal to Sparta player Erik Falkenburg. 94.212.31.237 (talk) 15:46, 1 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

I don't want to sound harsh, but where is the point in keeping all of the goalscorers when the top scorers would do as well? In fact, the current format (not only here, but also in a few other articles) is a nice demonstration of WP:NOT#STATS. There would be no need to sort out such details in 99 out of 100 cases if the goalscorers are kept to the project-standard Top10 plus those who are level with the tenth-best scorer. --Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head... 16:11, 1 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
I don't really care either way, to be very honest with you. If there's a consensus to keep it, that's fine with me, if there's a consensus to remove it, that's fine with me as well. I only care about keeping it correct and up to date as long as it's there. Feel free to raise this issue at WT:FOOTY. 94.212.31.237 (talk) 16:15, 1 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
We already got a discussion going on that, to be found at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football/Season article task force#Statistics in general, goalscoring tables in particular; thus my concerns. --Soccer-holicI hear voices in my head... 16:37, 1 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
All I see (with all due respect to everyone's efforts and intentions) is a three month old attempt at getting a discussion going. I strongly support discussing this and achieving a consensus, and I am more than happy to follow whatever the outcome of that discussion may be, but I think the chances of a thorough discussion, and therefore the chances of a widely shared consensus, are much bigger at WT:FOOTY. 94.212.31.237 (talk) 16:49, 1 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
