Question for ShadowRanger

Considering this is a disambg page, why not allow "2008 Miami Hurricanes football season"? It certainly makes some sense that a random search result would lead a Hurricane fan to this page. Wouldn't they type "2008 hurricanes season" with an S on the end ? The team are called the Hurricanes, not the Hurricane (singular). I think I'll stick to my guns here. Hiyahiyahiya (talk) 05:22, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Because in WP-land, plurals are usually assumed/ignored. That is, "hurricane" = "hurricanes". For example, [[hurricanes]] should point to the same place as [[hurricane]]. Check it out yourself: hurricanes vs hurricane. SpikeJones (talk) 14:53, 21 September 2008 (UTC)

Using the list of years on the Hurricane football seasons template as a guide, I filled in links on those disamb pages to the appropriate pages of 2001-2008. There aren't that many WP pages in general that this needs to be added to as those pages don't exist; feel free to add the others that do exist if you feel like it. No, I understood what you meant. However, this is a disambig page - intended to direct users who type in one thing to the page that they really mean. It so happens that the page term that was chosen is similar enough to a non-weather topic that it makes complete sense to add that link to this disambig page. I point you to disambiguation guidelines that clearly states why this page qualifies to have both weather and sports info on it (Only add links to articles that could use essentially the same title as the disambiguated term.
