Talk:2008 bombing of Indian embassy in Kabul

"Worst since..."

edit

"...the worst since a suicide bomber attacked an army bus in September 2007, killing 30 people.[2]" This correctly quotes the source, but what does it mean? The worst in what sense? In the sense of a death toll, the death of 41 people is the worst since the last incident causing the death of 41 people or more, not 30 people. Art LaPella (talk) 13:53, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I removed this for the reason you stated, though before actually seeing your post. Superm401 - Talk 16:02, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Cause section OR

edit

The cause section needs substantial modification, as it is currently original research. We can not try to figure out ourselves what the cause is. We can only report what other notable people and organizations say about it. Sentences like, "However, from the modus operandi of the bombers, it was evident that the real target of attack was Indian mission." are totally out of place.

It may not possible to discuss cause using only published ideas. In that case, we'll have to remove the section. Superm401 - Talk 16:02, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

The sentence quoted by you has been formatted to point media reports. Also as you can go through the references - they include Rediff, BBC and Economic Times. All are respected media companies - so I think this does not qualify WP:OR. If you agree, please remove the tag. --gppande «talk» 16:10, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Typos and misleading quotes

edit

Hmm, don't you think there are many typos on this page? For Pakistani quotes, for example, you have too many repetitive phrases, which are not in the reference shown on page. Maybe there can be done something about it? Because every time a user without log on tries to edit it - it gets reverted back. What do you think? 142.213.176.78 (talk) 18:29, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Feel free to do so. But make sure you don't add POVs or mess up things. Good edits won't be reverted. --gppande «talk» 20:07, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Page Vandalised

edit

The page has been vandalised. Looking at the racial slur, it can be assumed that the person who did it comes from a factory in neighboring country producing lunatics. They lunatics dont understand that the slur is used in west against everyone perceived as darker than whites. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 135.245.104.33 (talk) 06:06, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Foreign Involvement

edit

The United States has said today that there is no evidence of foreign involvement in this blast. I'm not sure where this needs to be added. http://www.rediff.com/news/2008/jul/10kabul2.htm Inf fg (talk) 17:45, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Title

edit

I don't get the title. '2008' implies there was an Indian embassy bombing in Kabul on a different year, and 'in Kabul' implies there was an Indian embassy bombing somewhere else. Could anyone explain why it has to be so long? "Indian embassy bombing" is fine, I doubt there were others. Please correct me if I'm wrong. 72.200.27.241 (talk) 07:02, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Its per WP naming pattern. But, you would be pleased to know that your suggestion has already been taken care here. --gppande «talk» 11:17, 11 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
