Reads like a blog

Politics in Ukraine is full of hype and most of it comes to nothing. I would urge that this article isn't updated on a daily basis in response to the day's news headlines but is written in retrospect once it is possible to assess which events were truly noteable by their impact. I've altered the tone slightly to make the article more NPOV: for example "unilateral" in relation to Presidential decree - all Presidential decrees are, by their nature, unilateral. The parliament and / or cabinet may or may not support them but such support isn't required in order for the President to exercise his right to issue decrees; thus "unilateral" may be seen as implied criticism by the editor. -- Timberframe (talk) 09:30, 16 September 2008 (UTC)

Agree, I'm also not sure this Treason accusation is the real reason for Yuchenko to quit this cabinet, it could be just an excuse and pity atemp to get his own popularity ratings up. Besides Yulia accused him of trying to sell Black See oil reserves to Russian company disguised an an U.S. company. What I mean is if we would sum up all the Treason accusations in Ukrainian politics on wikipedia we will soon have more Ukrainian political articles on wikipedia then pokomon articles! Talk page tagging

I've deleted a vast number of tags from this page, as has user:Kintetsubuffalo before me. Most of the tags were related to country projects other than Ukraine - tenuous at best since this article is primarily about internal affairs, and pre-emtive warning about the possible controversial nature of the subject and how debate may develop. Please can the IP editor who repeatedly re-instates these tags explain the purpose here, otherwise I'll continue to exercise discretion and delete those that don't seems relevant. Cute

It is very cute that some editors believe that Yushchenko blew up his own government just (and only) to help Georgia but personally I find that a bit naive, the bills voted by POR and BYuT to limit his powers definitely belong in the lead/intro. Mariah-Yulia (talk) 16:48, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Undue weight

Hi, this article for some reason draws conflict in georgia as one of main reasons for ukrainian crisis. While it was one of reasons, what source draws it as "main"? Sources like BBC doesn't even mention it [1] describing the crisis. Please investigate and correct. --windyhead (talk) 17:05, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

Sources like BBC should not be taken into account here as representing the NATO military block that supports the Saakashvili regime in Georgia, and therefore can't provide a balanced view on the events in this region. The name of the article is correct, taking into account all the timing and development of the events in relation to Georgia and Russia. This also means that Russian sources should be taken into account on the parity with NATO sources, if you insist on involving BBC and other NATO media sources. --Victor V V (talk) 01:40, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

I agree, free Russian press (ie those Russian media who can critisise their government without fear for personal harm - some recently murdered journalists in Russia make this qualifier non-trivial) should be treated on parity with free other press. Arnoutf (talk) 08:02, 20 September 2008 (UTC)

Very strange people

I like to keep these refs + pieces of text cause things might go one of these way and I don't have to start writing it:

• On September 20 the Political Council of Our Ukraine will study the issues concerning the break up of the parliamentary coalition. Justice Minister Mykola Onishchuk (member of Our Ukraine) did not rule out that during the session of the political council they will also study the issue concerning further stay of the Ministers from Our Ukraine in the structure of the government.
• Parliamentary Deputy Roman Zvarych, who is the deputy head of the parliamentary faction of the Our Ukraine-People’s Self-Defense bloc (OU-PSD), has noted that the People’s Self-Defense public movement has the right to leave the OU-PSD to start negotiations on formation of a new coalition.
