editGetting on the ballot as an independent?
editNice article, but one thing missing - what does it take to get on the ballot as an independent? In other words, is Bill Scheurer really on the ballot, or is he in the process of trying to qualify? John Broughton 15:25, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
Chamber of Commerce endorsement
editThe article notes the endorsement, but omits the following (which I got from politics1.com, but since text rolls off the front page, I'm not sure of the current URL):
- The Chamber praised Bean as "a strong, independent voice ... [who] understands what it takes to create a healthy business climate and promote local job growth." Bean has been under fire from pro-labor groups in her district for her support of the free trade CAFTA treaty. However, in this conservative seat, support from business might prove to be more valuable to Bean than a base of labor backers. With the support of the Chamber comes a $400,000 early TV ad buy for Bean. With the wealthy McSweeney pledging to spend "as much as it takes" to win this seat, the Chamber's money is a big boost for Bean.

Scheurer is NOT pro choice
editDon't write that he is. Look at his campaign website.
Fair use rationale for Image:David-McSweeney.jpg
editImage:David-McSweeney.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

editIn the last revision I edited, I found duplicate named references, i.e. references sharing the same name, but not having the same content. Please check them, as I am not able to fix them automatically :)

editThe section on Kirk is all positive while the section on Seals focuses on negatives and talking points used by Republicans in the election. Since there is a chance Seals will be the nominee against Kirk again this year, this is bias should be removed. The bias seems to have appeared with the December 1 edit by 199.208.239.140, who also did heavy editing (reverted) on the Mark Kirk page. Shsilver (talk) 17:10, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
- I reverted the page to the way it was before 199.208.239.140's edits. It could use some beefing up on Kirk during the 2006 race, but everything the anonymous IP had included was general information about Kirk, nothing specific to the race. Shsilver (talk) 20:47, 13 January 2008 (UTC)
- Mark Kirk has his own article, so there's no need to repeat his information in this article as well. The Dan Seals article has been repeatedly deleted for 'non-notability outside this event', so all his information has to appear here.Flatterworld (talk) 20:49, 29 September 2008 (UTC)
