Talk:2006 Michigan gubernatorial election/Archive 1

Archive 1 Archive 2

I have created this stub because, it is in the spirit of Wikipedia's "Neutral Point of View" to include all of the qualified candidates who run in a general election. At the very least, a directory, (with basic information), of Michigan politicians should contain biographical information on the five politicians who ran for Michigan's highest office. If any Michigan politicians (in addition to those who are elected) are notable, it is they.

I have included the reason for interest (Candidate for Governor in general election), and an unambiguous identifier (birth date). I have also included a few links. This should be enough lead information from which to locate additional sources and compose an article. --Libertyguy 00:28, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Odd lines

What's up with the line "My jobs were in the back room under the Professors." in the section Running mate: Carl Oehling? 209.124.36.219 (talk) 01:49, 15 January 2008 (UTC).

It looks like unrelated content was pasted into that section when the editor added that section. I did a yahoo search for that phrases exact wording and only one page came up: [1]

So it looks like the other editor was using this as a source and pasted that wording in there rather than transposing content into the proper encyclopedic prose.--Redandready (talk) 19:38, 16 January 2008 (UTC)

Merger idea

There is a template on the this article suggesting that it be merged with the Michigan gubernatorial election, 2006 article. There is absolutely no rational or further discussion given on this topic leading me to wonder why the template is there.

I disagree with a merger. Bhagwan Dashairya, and should have a separate article as do other candidates in the same election. NPOV.

Merely running for public office does not establish notability. Qqqqqq (talk) 01:25, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
If a political activist has done nothing notable other than run for office (i.e. paying a filing fee to the state), notability is not established. The other minor candidate in this election has a history of activism in the state; keeping that as a separate article makes some sense. But for this candidate, there's little more to him, it seems, other than running for office. Qqqqqq (talk) 01:58, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
