Talk:2006 Men's Hockey World Cup

Should this not be renamed the Men's World Hockey Cup 2006? As the women's is taking place the same year, in Madrid, Spain.--Nunners 11:28, 12 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yes it should! thanks for doing it. Any help with loading fixtures etc would be appreciated! --Driver51 16:01, 14 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

All-Ireland team edit

The flag of the Republic of Ireland currently being shown beside Ireland is incorrect: the team represents the whole island (ie. the Republic plus Northern Ireland) so perhaps the same "4 provinces" flag used by the Ireland national rugby union team would be more appropriate? --Mais oui! 12:37, 19 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

The rugby union articles all seem to use this shamrock flag, so it would seem appropriate for all the all-Ireland teams: rugby union, rugby league, cricket, hockey, etc. Eg, see Six Nations Championship article.
I have applied the shamrock flag to this article, and I propose it be used on all articles referring to the Ireland national hockey team.--Mais oui! 08:58, 7 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Nations edit

Which one we should prefer when write a nations name?

  • England (original nations name)
  • England (England national field hockey team)

We must use the redlinks. The whole point of redlinking is to alert editors that we are missing a topic. It should hopefully motivate us to actually get cracking and start some of them up. For example, I note that the Australia link is blue - Australia national field hockey team. --Mais oui! 17:56, 20 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:World Hockey Cup.jpg edit

Image:World Hockey Cup.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
