Source: Him calling himself as the "candidate of God": "Romulo Marcelo, a businessman who calls himself the 'candidate of God'.". Him badly losing the election: "Trinidad garnered 38,550 Votes, Santos was second with 35,442 Votes, while Mayor Claudio, who was the subject of the recall, was third with 13,840 votes and Romulo Marcelo had 204 votes."

@Howard the Duck: 2,509 bytes RPS minus the recall section (3198 - 689). Article was originally 598 bytes, so 5x is 2,990. Another 500 or so bytes RPS are needed. Other notes; there is some tense inconsistency; a citation is needed on the last sentence of the recall section; hook fact does check out. - Re: Last sentence. That's uncited because that's math. One year from then mayor took office (June 30, 1999) to one year before the next election (May 13, 2000). I suppose basic math calculations do not have to be cited.

@Howard the Duck: The current total RPS is 4083 bytes, minus the recall section (689) is 3,394. So, that's good. The sentence For local officials elected in 1998 who took office on June 30, 1998, they can only be recalled from June 30, 1999 to May 13, 2000, or a year before the May 14, 2001 election.

- FWIW, I've updated the link to the reference. The relevant section of the law is Section 74:
- No recall shall take place within one (1) year from the date of the official's assumption to office or one (1) year immediately preceding a regular local election.
- Another relevant section is Section 42 and 43:
- Sec. 42. Date of Election. - Unless otherwise provided by law, the elections for local officials shall be held every three (3) years on the second Monday of May.
- Sec. 43. Term of Office. - The term of office of all local elective officials elected after the effectivity of this Code shall be three (3) years, starting from noon of June 30, 1992 or such date as may be provided for by law, except that of elective Barangay officials: Provided, That all local officials first elected during the local elections immediately following the ratification of the 1987 Constitution shall serve until noon of June 30, 1992.
- Using math here, there were elections every three years every May of 1995 and 1998, which was the last local election (1998 Pasay local elections), and the officials elected on that election took office on June 30, 1998. Adding one year to June 30, 1998, you'd come up with June 30, 1999.
- Next, the next election was the 2001 Pasay local elections, which happened on May 14, 2001. Again, using math, subtracting one year from May 14, 2001, you'd come up with May 13. 2000.
- Ergo, someone can only be recalled between June 30, 1999, and May 13, 2000.
- If you insist on having this cited, I'd rather just remove this and let the reader calculate on his mind based on what he just read. Howard the Duck (talk) 18:16, 27 July 2022 (UTC)
