McLaren surpassed Ferrari

edit

'Williamses', as opposed to simply, the 'Williams cars' or similar, hardly makes for an appropriate encyclopedia term, surely. And wasn't that final victory by Senna the occasion on which McLaren surpassed Ferrari to become the most successful team in their own right, by dint of individual grand prix wins, in the history of the Championship? I could've sworn I read that on a website or in a Senna biography somewhere? If so, does anyone know of the source? MRacer (talk) 18:50, 16 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's mentioned on page 242 of Autocourse 1993-94: "It [the 1993 Australian Grand Prix] was also the 104th GP victory for McLaren ... surpassing Ferrari's long-standing record." DH85868993 (talk) 13:23, 19 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Patrese and Williams

edit

Article says "Riccardo Patrese, who was released by Williams after just over five seasons with the team, despite having finished runner up to Mansell in the Drivers' Championship in 1992." This isn't true, but I don't have the sources at hand. Will fix soon. He signed with Benetton and then Williams tried to re-sign him. ColinClark (talk) 21:13, 24 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

about McLaren using two engine models

edit

when i saw the entry list, i saw McLaren used two engine, the Ford HBE7 3.5 V8 and the Ford HBA8 3.5 V8. however, no one has mentioned that which specific race (round number) used which model of engine, could anyone reply to this message or directly editing the entry list about the round numbers for which engine model that McLaren used in this season? 223.19.112.230 (talk) 13:21, 7 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

We typically don't include that level of detail in season summary articles. DH85868993 (talk) 08:14, 8 January 2023 (UTC)Reply
