please edit the lead and remove Hindu fascism from it
It makes no mention of BJP other than in the info box
It gives the false impression that Congress was the only party involved

The involvement of BJP - which was barely a 4 year old party at the time of the riots with absolutely no political presence (0 MPs), and the RSS by extension is a manufactured lie that has surfaced only after the 2014 General Indian elections, where the Congress party was repeatedly questioned about their involvement in the riots. This lie is simply an attempt to dilute the involvement the Congress party in the riots. The quality of the citations made against each are not even comparable, where the ones against Congress are detailed professional reports by investigative agencies and a Supreme Court judge - which literally claims that the BJP workers "form committees in their areas to protect the Sikhs" (page 126 of JUSTICE NANAVATI COMMISSION OF INQUIRY report), and those against the BJP/RSS are "he said/she said" allegations by political opponents and other quotations from individual interviews, both of which are made at least 30 years after the fact, in what may only be considered as a malicious response to the growth in BJP's popularity nationally during the same time. If that is the minimum criteria for legitimate proof, here are some first hand eye witness accounts by Sikh people that deny any BJP/RSS involvement - https://www.quora.com/Were-RSS-or-BJP-members-involved-in-or-supported-the-1984-Sikh-massacre-directly-or-indirectly
This is actually scary how this platform is being used to distort facts. This would be like someone taking a few quotations from random conspiracy theorists with no accountability claiming that France and England were also involved in the Jewish Holocaust, or that the US State department were somehow involved in the 9/11 attacks and using them as legitimate citations for the same, without finding it necessary then to provide any further details. 2601:192:8400:1F70:3590:EB7B:FB37:3E23 (talk) 18:44, 8 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Not done You need to get consensus for the removal of BJP/RSS from the left column of the list of participants. I did take a look and it seems that the involvement of the BJP/RSS is sourced mostly (one source is not available online) to a single claim made by an opposition party person so you might have a case unless there are other sources. But I can't remove it unless you get consensus for the removal (on this talk page). --RegentsPark (comment) 18:58, 8 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
