About Naranjito

Correction needed

In first round, groups were actually named 1 to 6 instead of A to F. In second round, groups were actually named A to D instead of 1 to 4.

Another inaccuracy

In the description of Italy Brazil, the Rossi goals are out of order. His first was a header after a cross by Cabrini, in the 5th minute. His second, around 35 minutes, is the goal described in the text (stole a pass, etc.), and brought the score to 2-1.

Also, Gentile was not a center back, but a full back. Back then defensive formations had two full backs (like today, and they were Gentile and Cabrini), one libero (or sweeper) (Scirea), and one centerback (Collovati). Gentile was used to mark the best opposing striker in the round of 3 (first Maradona, then Zico), but he played full back in the final.

Chosen in July 1966?

From the article "Spain was chosen as hosts by FIFA in July 1966" - really? I would not have thought the process was that long. I'll check but does anyone know? Britmax (talk) 17:28, 23 March 2010 (UTC).

Didn't know where else to put this idea. Do you think that we should create an article about this game? I agree there should be an article and we should link that article to that game. The marking of Gentile on Zico and Maradona should also be mentioned, he wouldn't last 20 minutes with the way he marked them in today's game ^_^.

Venues ordering issue

El Molinon and Nuevo are in the wrong cities - they should be Gijon and Elche respectively, not the other way around. Spain's fate in the second round

After Spain had lost to Germany, Spain had 0 points, Germany had 3 points. Was there any speculation that Germany had to rely of the host country's sense of honor in order to advance? Spain could have let England win by way of "revenge". --217.226.76.220 (talk) 15:12, 12 February 2016 (UTC)
