Question - 23 June 2010

edit

Question transcribed from main page: As Clark and Spence swapped the cars in the race,[1] shouldn't the both entries be technically "shared drives"? And as such, shouldn't the retired entry (Clark/Spence) be listed as Car #1 (not #2) and the 7th-placed entry (Spence/Clark) be the Car #2 (not #1)? Which also places some doubts to the narrative of Chapman trying to score the points for Clark,[1] since the shared drives were ineligible for points since 1958. - Comment added by User:Cherkash, 23:33, 25 February 2010.

Questions both, and not suitable for inclusion on the main page. However, when you find answers feel free to include them in proper, referenced, prose form. Pyrope 03:42, 24 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Cherkash is correct on all counts. The line about Clark taking over Spence's car in an attempt to gain Championship points comes from "The Unites States Grand Prix and Grand Prize Races". Mike Lang's Grand Prix! (Volume 1) has the correct story that Clark rejoined the race in the hopes of getting in front of Hill and Surtees and limiting their points score. I've updated the text accordingly. DH85868993 (talk) 02:34, 4 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
