Todo edit

It needs at least a one sentence description of every storm to be a start.--Nilfanion (talk) 09:05, 9 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I did it!!!!!!!! RaNdOm26 05:59, 11 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Nice, it's a start then. More detail is needed for B class. --Hurricanehink (talk) 12:43, 11 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well each storm has detail now. HurricaneCraze32 aka Mitchazenia 13:33, 28 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Record? edit

Is 39 the most tropical storms a single basin has ever had in one season? I'm sure I read that somewhere. If so, a mention would be handy. 86.136.251.51 16:28, 10 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I got it. Hurricanehink (talk) 17:19, 10 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Timeline edit

The timeline is very unnecessary. – Chacor 19:49, 27 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

To do #2 edit

Hi, guys. If you are seeing this, then great. I've been interested with this article for months since it has the most amount of TDs and TSs. But it needs some 'To dos' first.

1.) First, it needs track maps for some depressions. Tropical Depressions 06W, 16W, 23W, 26W, 28W, 42W, 47W and 50W.

2.) Typhoon Louise is a continuation of Tropical Storm Marge. I want someone to create a new track of it with a new name of Typhoon Louise-Marge (Ining-Liling) in the section.

3.) I don't know but I should verify the PAGASA names.

Thanks very much.

To do #3 edit

This can be a GA, but there is a lot of work to do.

  • Merge Intensity estimates into sections.
  • Season effects.

TDs... edit

So perhaps this year I started to fill in the missing minor TDs from the JMA via Digital Typhoon pre-2000. Earlier this year I began doing the 1964 season and still uncompleted here since there are a LOT of tropical depressions found (counted to nearly 90 TDs). Something tells me that this could just be some inaccuracy? But should we actually add in these minor TDs? Typhoon2013 (talk) 11:52, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply

No. I just added your table from the sandbox into the season article, and removed these minor TDs. The reason is for consistency with the timeline, as well as the article size matters. SMB99thx my edits! 06:18, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@SMB99thx: We could also perhaps make an OS section but make a table perhaps? I don't mind either way, the fact how I have found way more than the regular number of minor TDs is insane. I do reject your premises though, we should still add all TDs even including the JTWC and PAGASA. I do not intend to add in the minor TDs in the timeline anyway. Typhoon2013 (talk) 11:22, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
I think consulting TheAustinMan is the best way to solve this article size problem we have. To note, OS section is in TAM's plans. SMB99thx my edits! 13:43, 18 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
Chipping in. I'm not buying the idea of including all the baby cyclones if the only info in the whole internet for these babies is the JMA database. How strong were those babies? Were all of them as strong as that lone TD from this year's Atlantic hurricane season? If the wind speeds for those TDs were unknown then I doubt they were as strong as the lone 2020 AHS TD.--CyclonicallyDeranged (talk) 02:11, 19 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@CyclonicallyDeranged: I mean it is the WPac and JMA is the RSMC here. Many of the minor TDs are even just classified by the JMA and not even classified as a disturbance by the JTWC. They are still included regardless. However this season there has been A LOT of the minor TDs that we feel like it is not needed. Plus they are more classified as "unofficial systems" as at that time, it is the JTWC being the main agency in the WPac, if I am not mistaken. Typhoon2013 (talk) 02:51, 19 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
@SMB99thx: Unless we do not really have to add these minor TDs in the Season effects table, however we could have a mention in the start like in some infobox as for example: "Tropical Depressions: 57 official, XX unofficial". If we do include these then the season start and end dates would be different. Typhoon2013 (talk) 02:51, 19 December 2020 (UTC)Reply
All tropical depressions should be added especially those from the JMA, CMA and HKO since we are not allowed to pick and choose what goes into a list of tropical depressions. Besides I have a feeling that there are only a handful of systems each year that arent monitored by at least one other warning center. Jason Rees (talk) 12:26, 15 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
This comment by Jason Rees fully changed my mind about inclusion about this. We should try to fill this up. MarioJump83! 13:24, 16 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
@MarioJump83: Will complete this year! I have the table and filled in several TDs so far. @SMB99thx: just letting you know about this. Typhoon2013 (talk) 21:24, 15 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
I agree that we must include all of the tropical systems, for they are still tropical cyclones. In February, MarioJump83 changed the tropical depression count to the mind-boggling amount of 89. Unfortunately, it did not last and we have the tropical depression count as 54. Should I change it back to 89? (I might as well edit the timeline to include all of the Tropical depressions.)—The Space Enthusiast (talk) 13:24, 3 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
