Does anyone know the story of Hawaii having its own team at this event? I understand that at some international events you get quirky sub-national team representation—e.g., England vs. Scotland vs. Wales, or United States vs. Puerto Rico—but Hawaii was just a regular U.S. State by 1964, so it is really odd that they would have their own entry in the competition. Seems like there's a story there. MrArticleOne (talk) 17:59, 25 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
I suspect they got a team in 1964 to add a little local interest. What is more surprising is that continued to have a team each year up to 1969. Nigej (talk) 18:24, 25 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
