I would query that it is correct to refer to the seat as being the "constituency of Dundee in the county of Angus" as it says in the opening. There are two issues with this. 1) Dundee had held the status of a "County of a City" since 1894, in other words being a county in its own right (along with Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow). So legally it was not part of the County of Angus, despite historically being part of the Angus area/county. For instance since 1894 Dundee has had its own Lord Lieutenant, who is the Lord Provost of Dundee, and Dundee has not been in the jurisdiction of the Lord Lieutenant of Angus. 2) Angus was legally at this point the County of Forfar (aka Forfarshire). While it was still often called Angus on an informal basis, this would not have been used officially such as in the description of a parliamentary division. Thus I think it would be better to change this to "constituency of Dundee in Scotland". Dunarc (talk) 19:54, 22 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
