Who gets to decide what events are non-notable for this page? edit
Right now I'm writing a novel set in the 19th century. I find this page very useful for background. Other writers may too. So, by what criteria are details being removed? Or is it just any editor's say-so?
Until this concept is addressed - and a conceptual criterion is agreed - I suggest a moratorium. An item of information - such as, that Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show opened in London - does no real harm by staying here, and is inconveniently lost if removed. Actually, it's arguable that it was a notable event indeed in popular culture: it certainly made a huge impact in Victorian England and introduced the archetypal "cowboy" concept to Europe.
