Commercial external link in main body edit

Do we really need a link to a commercial entity (icenter.be) that is not even relevant to this article? .com.be and alike are not "official" names, so do they matter at all? --213.196.5.160 12:47, 2 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm deleting it now. --213.196.5.160 12:19, 6 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

ac.be edit

The kuleuven.ac.be (KUL), ucl.ac.be (UCL) and rug.ac.be (Universiteit Gent) domains remains active and www.kuleuven.ac.be is even the first Google answer for "kul"

[no change]
True, but have a look at kuleuven.ac.be, it's just a front page where you need to select your language, as soon as you do it will switch to a "kuleuven.be" address. kuleuven.be is their main adress, used in promo material etc. Obvioulsly they still own the kuleuven.ac.be url, they are not going to abandon a url that has been promoted for years. --Lamadude (talk) 16:23, 12 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Article says... edit

"Only recognized UN member states are eligible for a two-letter domain extension."

Is this really true?...What about .tw, .ps, etc.?

Maybe this should be removed? 84.175.117.59 (talk) 22:00, 14 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Youtube edit

I don't know if this should be mentioned, but Youtube's short URLs (when you click on the "Share" button on any video and select "Short URL") uses "youtu.be" as the URL and puts the Video ID directly after the Slash to shorten it a bit. youtu.be also redirects to Youtube.com. I can't post this with actual links because it gets blocked as Spam? WTF! 84.63.133.184 (talk) 18:43, 28 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Should the title of this section be "Domain hacks?" How is this a "hack?" Primus128 (talk) 20:56, 1 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
How is it not a domain hack? Seems like that's exactly what it is when you look up what a domain hack is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_hack TheIndieArmy (talk) 02:56, 21 April 2013 (UTC)Reply
When you look at the "domain hack" page, it does clarify your reasoning. However, not many people know this definition, and will put negative connotations to the word "hack." "Other uses" would be a better name for the section. Xninetynine (talk) 22:00, 11 January 2019 (UTC)X99Reply
