Redirect to .net (disambiguation) edit

I am proposing to change the redirect target from .NET Framework to .net (disambiguation), as there is no primary topic for .NET. Since 2019, the current redirect is a violation of WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT; see Google Trends for a comparison of .NET Core and .NET Framework. @MB: The discussion on Talk:.NET Core you are referring to had two sides on the argument: those arguing that .NET Core should be the new primary topic for .NET, and those arguing that .NET has no primary topic. None argued that .NET Framework remain the primary topic. intforce (talk) 18:21, 31 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Intforce, Because of the history here, just take it to WP:RFD and gain consensus. That is the venue to discuss changing the target of a redirect. MB 18:48, 31 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Sigh. You and Vpab15 refer to a consensus that doesn't exist, but tell me to seek consensus. I was hoping for some common sense to avoid needless discussion and bureaucracy, but here we go. See you at Wikipedia:Redirects_for_discussion/Log/2021_January_31#.NET. intforce (talk) 18:54, 31 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
I agree redirecting to .NET Framework as it currently does is a violation of WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT, however, this should follow Microsoft .NET to Microsoft .NET strategy. Or perhaps even better yet be inverted by moving Microsoft .NET strategy to .NET—with appropriate hatnote disambiguation of course. A Microsoft brand article along the lines of Microsoft .NET strategy does constitute a primary topic for ".NET". For reference, you will note Microsoft .NET@141924370 existed between 2006 and 2007 and was turned into a redirect to Microsoft .NET strategy @820823754 since 2018. —Uzume (talk) 23:29, 8 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
