Better map? edit

This article would benefit from a map showing the location of this town in relation to major cities in Japan. --Spangineerws (háblame) 04:44, 13 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Importance; Location edit

Okuma has become important because the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant is located there. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fukushima_I_Nuclear_Power_Plant There are a couple of issues re the town's location. First, the wording is currently "a town near Futaba District". The word near looks wrong to me. If you compare the map with the map of Futaba District http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Futaba_District_in_Fukushima_Prefecture.svg it looks like Okuma is within Futaba District. Second, there is an Okuma Station http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C5%8Ckuma_Station on the railroad, but the location of Okuma Station given (on the related page for the Joban railroad line) appears to be roughly 80 km north of the location in this article. For all I know, there are 2 locations named Okuma in that general part of Japan. Would someone who really knows, please sort this out? Oaklandguy (talk) 02:39, 19 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

I realize that you posted this over a year ago, but the town of Ōkuma (大熊町) and Ōkuma Station (逢隈駅) are in different prefectures and are unrelated except for their pronunciation. I added Ōkuma Station to the Okuma disambiguation page, so hopefully that may clear up some confusion. purplepumpkins (talk) 23:20, 22 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Strangled English edit

Since the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, "Fukushima" indicates Ōkuma, not city of Fukushima.

What on earth does this actually mean? Skinsmoke (talk) 20:44, 3 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

About a month ago an IP user went through and updated a bunch of Fukushima and/or nuclear-related pages with weird pseudo-English. He/she added a line similar to the one in question to multiple articles, of which I'm currently working on cleaning up. purplepumpkins (talk) 02:28, 7 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

Population figures edit

If you wish to update the population figures, the town's official population is located here: http://www.town.okuma.fukushima.jp/お知らせカテゴリ/避難状況

Please refrain from changing to population to 0. purplepumpkins (talk) 23:30, 27 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
