It might be helpful to provide a hint to the pronunciation of Þjóðhátíð as a majority of users will be unfamiliar with thorns and eths. See Wikipedia:IPA for Icelandic. Catfish Jim & the soapdish 06:42, 20 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's roughly pronounced "Thyoth-how-teeth". The first "Th" is kind of like the "Th" in "thing" and the second is kind of like the "Th" in "The". "Yo" is just kind of like the slang. The "how" should be pronounced without the "w" and I'm not sure the "th" in "teeth" is the right "th", it could be the other one (and is in any case supposed to sound like the "Th" in "The"). I have no idea how to incorporate this knowledge into the article in my current state. finval (talk) 08:43, 18 January 2013 (UTC)Reply
