Clarification please edit

There were two items requiring clarification:

"He was honored by the same chief Catriel with a poncho."

What does this mean? "same chief", "Catriel" (a place) and "poncho" is it literally a poncho?

"In his military career had various destinations: Salta, Córdoba, San Luis."

These are locations, not designations - are they medals for battles in these places?
