Disclaimer edit

Lipskey explicitly identifies the one who governed Toledo with Álvaro Rodríguez, though it is not clear to me from the text that it is not referring to his father, since I can't find another reference to Álvaro in Toledo and Barton makes no mention of it. Tenencia of Suarón edit

>>> He held the tenencias of Ribadeo (1146), Suarón (1153), Montenegro (1155), Sarria (1164–66), and Limia (1165). He patronised the Cistercian monastery of Meira, where nearby he had received a grant of property from Alfonso VII on 27 August 1151. In 1164 Álvaro came to an agreement with Peter, Bishop of Mondoñedo, whereby the Galician churches of Pineira, Vigo, and Villasella, which belonged to the diocese, were handed over to Álvaro in exchange for some properties.

I am very interested in the mention of the tenencia of Suarón. It must refer to the so called Honor del Suarón, based in a castle located over the valley of the river Suarón, close to the present small city of Vegadeo (in north-western Asturias). Which or where is the reference to Alvaro Rodríguez's tenencia of Suarón?

M. G. Martínez, "El convento benedictino de Villanueva de Oscos", Boletín del Instituto de Estudios Asturianos 8 (1954), 283–85, apparently quotes a charter dated 27–28 June 1153. This citation comes from Barton, op. cit. in article, p. 230. Given the proximity of Vegadeo to Villanueva de Oscos and the obvious reference to the river, I'd say you are right.
