Syros General Hospital Vardakeio & Proio

The Syros General Hospital Vardakeio & Proio is a nursing institution in Ermoupoli, Syros. It has a potential of 110 beds. It started operating on October 16, 1958, and was officially inaugurated on July 14, 1959. It was built mainly with funds from donors Ioannis Kyriazis Vardakas and Stamatis-Konstantinou Proiou.[1]

It is a continuation of the municipal hospital named "Elpis", which was built in Syros in 1825–26 by the Rhodian architect Georgios Milionis.
