Swimming competitions at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile were held between October 21 and 29, 2023 at the Aquatic Center (pool events) in Santiago, Chile, while the open water events took place at the Laguna Los Morros in San Bernado.[1][2]

Similar to the program's format in 2019, swimming featured a total of 36 events (17 each for men and women and 2 mixed), including two 10 km open-water marathons.[3] The following events were contested (all pool events are long course, and distances are in metres):

Qualification

A total of up to 374 swimmers will qualify in the pool and a total of up to 40 open water swimmers will qualify. As Host Country, Chile automatically will qualify 18 male and 18 female competitors in the pool and two open water swimmers in each event.[3]
